Choosing the Right Dental Assistant School

Step 1: Researching Dental Assistant Schools

If you already made the decision to pursue career training as a dental assistant, then you have probably done some research already. Doing research before you choose a career is not only smart, it can end up saving you a lot of effort, time, and money in the long-term.

Delta College offers opportunities to students all over Louisiana for training to become dental assistants. Delta has locations in Baton Rouge, Covington, Lafayette, and Slidell.

Step 2: Taking Advantage of Delta College’s Benefits

  • Completing the Program Takes Only 7.5 Months

Any program that can prepare you for a career as a Dental Assistant is going to take a number of months not weeks. But seven and a half months is not long at all to commit to a program that prepares students to sit for the National Registry Exam for Dental Assistants.

  • Costs

One of the things would-be students ask about is what additional costs will be incurred by textbooks, workbooks, software, lab supplies, uniforms, etc. These are all covered by the cost of tuition, the only additional costs are for notebooks, pens, pencils, etc.

  • Financial Aid

Delta College has a Financial Services team whose job is to ensure that students are aware of every financial aid tool available to them. If you really want to enroll in the dental assistant program at Delta College, they have an array of resources available for you.

One of the most important resources is that Delta College’s Dental Assistant program qualifies for TOPS. However, Delta College also participates in Federal Pell Grants, Direct Loans, Plus Loans, SEOG, and private programs to aid students in defraying the cost of their career training as dental assistants.

Step 3: Contact Delta College

If you want to know more about the dental assistant program, you can call or email whichever campus is closest to you. From there, you will be able to talk to members of the staff who can help you to understand how to proceed. We have classes enrolling around the year, so do not be afraid to ask when you can start!
